How 'Aha' Moments Led Michael from the Foot of the Himalayas to Innovative Heights

Michael S. | Sr. Distinguished Engineer |
Texas, United States

Michael is a Senior Distinguished Engineer and recognized technical evangelist. He speaks globally on the evolution and impact of emerging technologies. With 28 years of experience backed by 14 years growing up in Asia, he currently leads an advanced innovation team focused on next-gen solutions for the Age of AI.

With a solid track record as a visionary thought leader, Michael's responsibilities include engaging with external researchers while collaborating internally across the Chief Technology Offices to envision and drive transformation.

After establishing the first AI Center of Excellence at Dell and leading AI Research in Services, he now focuses on user experiences that will make the next generation of GenAI interfaces accessible to every human on earth. As Augmented Intelligence accelerates the efficiency of humans and machines working together, Michael provides a vision of “the possibilities” that can truly drive human progress.

Michael's experience as a sole proprietor and subsequent years at Dell in multiple organizations provides a unique perspective of Dell’s entire product lifecycle. He serves on the Master of Science in Business Analytics advisory council for the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and has been granted multiple hardware and software patents across eight countries.

When he isn’t consumed by Machine Intelligence, he can be found (or not) hiking with family and friends somewhere off-grid and out-of-service getting recharged by nature.

Michael shares how 'aha' moments took him from the foot of the Himalayas to innovative heights.
