“[Space flight] has always been something that’s captivated me,” Ross says. “I remember watching the Apollo launch with my parents at 7 years old, and now to have a career that allows me to be a part of this process…it’s awesome.”

About Larry Ross:

Meet Larry Ross, Technical Account Manager on Dell Technologies’ Federal Support Resolution team, supporting the Artemis program for NASA. In his role, he ensures customers' technical needs are met, diagnoses and repairs server equipment issues, and dispatches team members to service the technology that is responsible for getting people into space.

30 years ago, Ross started out as a janitor cleaning floors at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. Today, he and Dell Technologies are helping NASA accomplish their mission. NASA has been partnering with Dell for over a decade, and Ross' team had the opportunity to go on site to lead wet-dress rehearsals and practice runs in preparation for the successful Artemis I launch. In these rehearsals, Ross and his team identified any equipment issues and made sure all problems were resolved. Dell continues to support NASA for the Artemis II mission scheduled for a November 2024 lift-off. Overall, over a thousand Dell servers and hundreds of Dell workstations are tied to the success of Artemis.

Ross has fulfilled his dream of working in the space industry and is now watching the Artemis launch with his son, just as he watched it with his parents. It is truly a full circle moment.
