Software Development Engineer in Test Automation - Dell SecureWorks

Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer in Test you will be a key member of our Automation and Test Infrastructure team. This team is chartered with leading the automation initiatives and to create test infrastructure and improve automated test coverage for Dell SecureWorks’ world class security products. You will get to work with some of the cutting edge technologies. This is a highly visible challenging but also very rewarding position. You will have an opportunity to make a direct impact and improve efficiencies in the SDLC. The ideal candidate will have prior experience building test frameworks and writing automated test for complex software products. The candidate will have strong Technical, Problem Solving and Communication skills.
 
Role Responsibilities:
-Utilize technical and leadership skills and act as a strong Quality Engineering advocate to provide input into various software development lifecycle stages to make sure that automation can be built in order to test the software
-Interact with developers, product managers, and other test engineers
-Responsible for developing and executing test plans for software qualification in an automated fashion and to ensure high quality software delivery
 
As a managed security provider, Dell SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53.  Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems.   Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Requirements:
-Experience writing test automation frameworks (TAF) and automated tests
-Experience with Java and or C++; experience with scripting languages such as Perl, PHP, Python
-Familiarity with Javascript/jQuery/HTML5/CSS
-Experience working with UNIX/Linux
-Familiarity with Database technologies and testing
-Exposure to Agile Software Development methodologies
-Additional strengths:
          o Project-oriented and able to work with minimal day-to-day direction
          o Detailed and process oriented
          o Must be a fast learner, highly motivated and willing to take on projects under deadline
          o Excellent written and oral communications plus interpersonal skills and the ability to work
             effectively with peers
          o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
          o Ability to effectively work individually or as part of a team
 
Preferences:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
-Undergraduate degree and 6 to 8 years or more of relevant experience; or Graduate degree and 4-6 years or more of relevant experience in Quality Engineering
-MS in Computer Science or other "hard science" discipline is preferred
-Experience testing distributed applications is a plus
