Tell us about yourself.

I am from Sacramento, California, but I moved up to Portland, Oregon for college. I like making ceramics, hosting gatherings, and one time I made a small comic about a superhero olive. I hope to turn that into a children’s book someday.

Please share a bit about your current role and any past roles you've had in the program.

I’m currently in my third rotation, and my role is in Corporate Affairs as a Corporate Executive Comms Generalist. I am already enjoying working on many projects, one of which is a video that will help everyone understand earnings terms after the Quarterly Review Broadcast.

My first role was in Customer Data & MarTech Transformation. I learned a lot about our sales and marketing tools as well as customer success management, change management, and program management.

My second role was on the Digital Capabilities, Experience & Ops team under Global Partner & OEM Marketing. I worked on a multitude of projects in that role, but I’m most proud of the leadership role I took on in their One Team Assembly Board. I lead a team who planned a change management session followed by a virtual live tour of Buenos Aires. The whole organization loved it, and it was great so see our hard work pay off in such a joyous way.

Why did you decide to join the Marketing Development Program (MDP)?

I wanted to join the MDP because it seemed like a great way to discover my interests and strengths while developing and exploring opportunities that I wouldn’t have had if I went straight into one position. Everyone I met at Dell during my interview process was so welcoming that the prospect of great community was also a part of my decision.

Could you highlight any standout projects or opportunities you've had a chance to work on as a part of the MDP program?

During my second rotation, I lead the MDP Awareness Committee in strategically improving the MDP site by adding new pages, updating links, and simplifying the look and feel. I’m proud of that work because I believe it will improve the awareness within marketing at Dell and increase the number of mangers who offer MDP roles.

What is your favorite part of MDP?

My favorite part of the MDP has been the connections I’ve made. I met one of my best friends through the program, I met my mentor in my second rotation, and I love getting to know new people as cohorts graduate and new ones begin.

What advice would you offer to potential applicants who are considering joining Dell's MDP?

I would say if you are seriously considering the MDP, you should look into Dell’s moonshot goals, start reading the news about Dell, and really listen to the team members you meet. Always get to know a company before you apply and interview. You’ll have more to talk about, and you’ll know why you’re a good fit. It also wouldn’t hurt to start learning about AI. You don’t have to have everything figured out; there are many learning opportunities when you get accepted into the program!
