What you’ll achieve
As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.This requirement is for a team that develops BIOS/EFI firmware for Dell’s Enterprise systems such as Server, Storage and Network systems.

You will:

• Work with an experienced team of engineers to research, specify, and develop BIOS / Firmware / Software features for next generation enterprise (server / Storage / Network) products, driving industry leading IP and differentiated products.

• Use a range of firmware development tools including C compilers, assemblers, debuggers, ITP's, scopes, logic analyzers.Candidates should enjoy working in a fast moving, team-oriented environment.

• Apply skills and experience across the full cycle of software development to enable features and capabilities of Enterprise (server/storage/network) products in areas like UEFI drivers, performance tuning, power management, security, manageability, reliability, manufacturability, configurability and embedded controllers.

• Take ideas from concept phase through delivery, including creating high level design docs, scoping design and requirements, and detailed spec creation.

• Work across teams and organizations to champion ideas and gain alignment.Manage work proactively including meeting schedules, identifying risks, and delivering high quality software.

Essential Requirements

• B.Tech in ECE/CSE/EEE, or equivalent degree

• 8-12 years of BIOS or UEFI firmware development experience in C and / or assembly languages

• Strong knowledge of x86 server architecture including processors, chipsets, memory, storage and communications devices commonly used in servers

Desirable Requirements

• Preferable to have experience in developing Automation Scripts using Python Language

• Preferable to have Automation Experience in BIOS/UEFI or Pre-OS Environment
