The Design to Value (DTV) team at Dell’s Client Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Competitive Analysis Engineering Technologist to drive innovation and deliver strategic insights that inform product and portfolio decisions. This leadership role is based in Austin, Texas, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the next generation of Dell products.

What you’ll achieve

This is an engineering leadership position on a highly energized team within Dell’s Client Solutions Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering actionable competitive product insights. This role participates strategically as a thought leader working across the entire Client portfolio to deliver differentiated products that delight our customers.

You will:

• Lead a diverse range of competitive analysis initiatives, including experience testing, hardware teardowns, benchmark testing, and cost analysis.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, system architecture, industrial design, procurement, services, and quality teams to ensure alignment and maximize value delivery.

• Advocate for DTV competitive insights and integrate findings into future system designs.

• Develop and implement organizational strategies, processes, and initiatives to enhance DTV’s competitive analysis methodologies.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, multi-disciplinary engineering background preferred and Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading or managing engineering teams.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in generating innovative solutions that enhance customer value and reduce costs and Strong technological curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

• Deep understanding of business objectives as they relate to customer use cases

• Proven effectiveness in working with senior management and executives

• Strategic decision-making skills, comfort with ambiguity and ability to influence at all organizational levels through clear communication.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience with Design to Value (DTV) or Design to Cost (DTC) methodologies

• Broad knowledge of the PC industry

• Familiarity with Dell’s business model and product development lifecycle

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is USD 167K - USD 229K.
