What you’ll achieve

As part of the PowerMax InMarket Engineering Organization you will play a key role within the Primary Storage Division at Dell Technologies. As a Software Senior Engineer, you will become part of Customer facing division of the PowerMax Engineering group, designing and implementing improvements to the PowerMax product install base as well as developing solutions to complex issues found at customer sites with the product. You will be joining a team of engineers considered as systems experts strong troubleshooting skills, in-depth source code knowledge and coding ability and widely recognized as engineers that help drive improvements and features of the highest quality with recovery, serviceability and Total Customer Experience the forefront of everything they do.

You will:
Take ownership of functional areas and independently resolve real-time customer issues, potentially across functional areas, using advanced debug techniques and in-depth code analysis. Independently perform detailed root-cause analysis of critical events including assisting with full scale customer recreations and helping to develop fixes to resolve the underlying issue. Assist in the development of new features and evolution of the current VMAX Microcode code base based on past customer experiences. Where applicable, design, code, test and document changes to the code and be accountable for QA test cycle code validation through triage activities.

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development and/or troubleshooting, with a BE or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
• Strong hands-on coding skills in C/C++ (or the ability to read and understand large, complex C/C++ codebases).
• Solid understanding of Operating System concepts, Data Structures, and system-level programming; experience with embedded, distributed, or fault-tolerant systems is a plus.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex issues involving Hardware, Firmware, and system software integration.
• Self-driven learner with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to report progress and drive change.

Desirable Requirements

• Knowledge of Dell Enterprise Storage product architecture, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
• General understanding and practical application of Agile software engineering processes
