What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Engineer, you will provide world-class delivery support to our customers by building an in-depth knowledge of our customers’ priorities and initiatives and becoming a trusted advisor that avoids customer impact and facilitates continuous improvement. You will identify potential sales and growth opportunities and will partner with key stakeholders to maximize these prospects.

You will:

  • Provide operational support for Converged and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (comprising of Vblock, VxRail, and Dell PowerEdge MX) and the VMware vSphere/vRealize suite of applications.
  • Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, configuration changes, and upgrade of all components in the virtualized networked environment and assisting the customer with disaster recovery testing and configuration.
  • Work within ITIL change, incident, and problem management framework ensuring that scheduled outages arranged to minimize customer impact whilst maintaining all hardware and software at optimal levels and during disaster recovery testing.
  • Manage risks in the environment, create remediation plans, document and track to completion within an ITIL framework.
  • Work with the project management team and provide technical assistance in planning and implementation of projects.
  • Provide technical leadership in the continual service reviews and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures including updates to technical documentation.
  • Be part of 24/7 on-call roster to provide operational support for high severity incidents and provide required technical expertise in major incident calls with the customer’s incident management team.

Essential Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience with Converged and/or Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (e.g. Vblock, VxRail, Dell PowerEdge MX)
  • Highly Proficient in VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and NSX
  • Experience with Cisco and Dell network switches
  • Understanding of ITIL and Agile Methodology. Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills

Desirable Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Technical)
  • Experience with VMware vRealize Operations, vRealize Log Insight, and vRealize Network Insight, VMware Site Recovery Manager
  • Scripting/Coding experience – PowerShell, Python, etc
