Principal Electrical Engineer
Our global FPGA team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality, and quality, as well as industry standards.

What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Electrical Engineer in the FPGA team, you will be responsible for delivering new PCBA technologies and logic solutions that scale across our next-generation enterprise portfolio. You will work with a deeply technical and dynamic team of electrical engineers as well as cross-functional global teams to innovate and deliver game-changing products in our server marketspace!
You will:
Be part of a collaborative and energized EE team to develop innovative solutions. Design next-generation HW features in partnership with front end teams and industry partners
Drive feature and cost trade-off analysis to provide technical recommendations. Provide design guidance to enable and support global teams
Deliver assigned system interfaces with design and process across extended teams
Prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures
Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment

Essential Requirements
BA/BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred. 8+ years’ experience in hardware or embedded system design, implementation, and debugging with processor, memory, and I/O subsystems.
Advanced understanding of appropriate system architectures. Advanced knowledge in Verilog/ System Verilog and HDL coding practices
Proficient with RTL design and simulation test benches. Experience in product development from early Concept through production
Strong fundamentals in both analog and digital design practices with desire to share knowledge and mentor others
Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues
Desirable Requirements
M.S. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred. 8+ years’ experience in hardware or embedded system design, implementation, and debugging with processor, memory, and I/O subsystems.
Experience with Enterprise Intel/AMD x86 Server design, including planar and system implementations. Experience with Lattice/Xilinx/Altera tool suites. Experience with scripting languages (Python/Batch). Experience with Verilog verification tools (Modelsim/QuestaSim). Experience with Git repository management
