What you’ll achieve

As an Okta PAM Engineer, you will play a key role in integrating applications and servers with the Okta Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform, while also customizing its functionalities to meet our unique needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to seamlessly integrate Okta PAM into the enterprise, enhancing efficiency and streamlining operations.

This role requires strong Okta skills as well as strong foundational IAM/PAM domain expertise.

You will:

• Design, develop, and implement Okta PAM solutions for privileged access management, user provisioning, and access control management. Implement and manage vaulting capabilities for service accounts using Okta Vault, ensuring secure storage and rotation of credentials.

• Create and automate workflows in Okta to streamline privileged access lifecycle management, access requests, approvals, and reviews.

• Onboard enterprise systems on the Okta PAM platform using Okta OOTB connectors/API integrations for servers, applications and secrets management.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, security, compliance) to ensure proper implementation of privileged access management and compliance standards.

• Continuously optimize Okta processes, improve automation, and enhance system efficiency; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Okta PAM configurations, integrations, and performance. Contribute to PAM/IAM roadmap planning, new capabilities required to enable business needs/emerging industry trends.

Essential Requirements:

• 3-5 years of overall IAM experience, including 2+ years of implementation experience in Okta PAM/similar SaaS platforms [BeyondTrust, CyberArk, Krontech]
• Strong understanding of Okta PAM architecture and components (e.g., Privileged Access Management, Lifecycle Management, and Access Management). Experience with other similar platforms like CyberArk/Hashicorp will be an added advantage (Cloud or On-Prem)
• Proficiency in developing and integrating Okta APIs with other systems.
• Knowledge of IAM concepts, such as role-based access control (RBAC), provisioning, SSO, and MFA and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and directory services (Active Directory, LDAP).
• Familiarity with security standards, protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID), and compliance requirements in identity management.

Desirable Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Okta certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Professional, Okta Certified Administrator).
