What you’ll achieve

If you’re interested in taking part in a once in a career opportunity, Dell is looking for a Senior Signal Integrity Designer with expertise in 4G and 5G Radio development to be part of a high-powered Ottawa R&D team.  The team will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing a technology new to Dell for addressing the demands of the 5G Radio subsystem for operators and to help our customers to exploit this significant market evolution. The candidate for this role will have significant work experience in signal and power integrity simulation as well as EMC/EMI theory.

You will:

• Take ownership of all aspect relating to Signal/Power integrity
• Help define PCB stackup from SI/PI perspective
• Create design rules for all electrical interfaces in a design
• Create timing analysis on parallel interfaces such as DDR
• Create system performance tuning parameters for SerDes interfaces
• Write verification specification and procedure to help validate simulation
• Mentor and bring up junior Hardware Designer

Essential Requirements

• A keen understanding of how to apply SI/PI theory into a practical environment
• Working knowledge of Ansys HFSS, SiWave. Cadence's Sigrity SI, Power SI, Power DC
• In-depth knowledge of high-speed serial links such as eCPRI, CPRI, JESD, Ethernet protocol
• In-depth knowledge of DDRx memory designs and layout
• Knowledgeable of Cadence's schematic and layout flow.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skill
• Strong hands-on technical skills and the demonstrated ability to work across functional areas

Desirable Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Participate in Next generation architectural investigations/proposals.

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The total salary range for this position is $123,250 - $159,500 CAD.
