Stepping into Dell Technologies 

In my second year of college, I was thrilled to be selected for an internship at Dell as an Inside Sales Intern. The selection process was rigorous, involving multiple interviews and group discussions. Once selected, I underwent a week-long training that introduced me to Dell’s diverse portfolios and functions. I was then assigned to a team and paired with a buddy—a seasoned team member who guided me through the initial weeks and helped me understand the role and responsibilities. Despite the fast-paced nature of sales, I was amazed at how every team member took time to mentor interns and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment. I never felt like a burden; instead, I felt valued and supported throughout my internship. 

A Culture That Stands Out

One moment that truly exemplified Dell’s culture was when I was searching for a meeting room. I approached a senior colleague for directions, and instead of just pointing me the way, he personally walked me across the building to the room. That simple act of kindness spoke volumes about the helpful and inclusive environment at Dell. Coming from a marketing background, I initially believed sales would be repetitive and lack creativity. But my experience at Dell completely changed that perception. I discovered that sales is deeply creative—each customer interaction requires understanding their unique needs and tailoring solutions accordingly. It’s an art form that demands empathy, insight, and innovation.
