Agni Discusses Dell Technologies' Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Meet Agni Santos, a trans woman who is making a difference in the world of technology. She works in senior application support (IT) for Dell Technologies Brazil. Agni is also a member of the IT Development Program (ITDP), which develops IT talent at Dell. She is an active member of our Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG). Her goal? To inspire and be an example for more trans people to achieve success in the job market and in the tech world. Agni shares her vision about Culture, Diversity and Inclusion at Dell.
What brought you to Dell?
What brought me to Dell was my desire to work with technology. But what really caught my attention was discovering Dell’s Pride ERG. From this ERG, I understood that it would be possible to join Dell, understand myself better and have support within Dell to develop myself technically.
How would you describe Dell’s culture?
Dell’s culture was fundamental in arousing my interest to join Dell, mainly because of the Pride ERG. Seeing people like me at Dell helped me understand that I could belong in this space. Without our culture of diversity and inclusion, I would not have seen this as a possibility.
Dell opened doors for me to develop, and I would like to welcome others into a technology position so they can see the same possibility and inspiration in me. I want them to look at the diverse team members at Dell and know it is possible to reach this space within the technology market.

How are diversity and inclusion proven here?
Dell truly values diversity and inclusion and seeks to actively work on them, for example, through our many ERGs! In Pride, we disseminate information related to LGBTQ+ people, and Dell partners with us as we tackle these issues. ERGs help foster our culture of inclusion by supporting employees as plural, diverse people.
As a trans person, I feel like I’m opening doors for other people to come after me. I’m here because I saw a trans woman working here before me. From that, I understood that it was possible to reach these spaces. Dell opened doors for me to develop, and I would like to welcome others into a technology position so they can see the same possibility and inspiration in me. I want them to look at the diverse team members at Dell and know it is possible to reach this space within the technology market.
Agni's story is an inspiring example of how diversity and inclusion can open doors and create opportunities in the world of technology. Her journey at Dell Brazil shows that, with the right support, everyone can achieve their goals and make a difference. Agni hopes that her story will inspire other people to follow their dreams and believe that they, too, can reach these spaces within the technology market.
