Hi, my name is Dhiren Patel, and I’m a Client Solutions Specialist with Dell Technologies. I was born and raised here in Canada and currently live just north of Toronto with my wife and daughter. I am a Certified Project Management Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and the financial services industry over the last 15+ years. I’ve been passionate about technology from a young age, whether it was taking things apart to understand how they work or finding new ways to use them to solve problems. Today, that curiosity drives my focus on how our solutions delight end users, simplify IT, and advance sustainability for our customers. I have stepped into the world of creating “content”, so look out for “@dpatel_tech” on your social platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn! Outside of work, I enjoy a full and active life, spending quality time with family and friends, playing softball, music, heading outdoors to camp, and explore new places whenever I can.
Was there a specific moment or experience that made you think, “I want to share tech knowledge with the world”?
About four years ago, I started a passion project outside of work that began as a small proof of concept and turned into a key creative outlet for me. In my previous role as a Client Technologist, I had access to the latest desktops, laptops, workstations, displays, and peripherals. I saw an opportunity to turn that into value by recording my authentic first impressions while unboxing and setting up these products. What started as a simple experiment quickly became a learning journey. Over time, through constant iteration and refinement: tweaking my approach, format, and delivery. I evolved the content from basic unboxing into something more comprehensive. Today, I’ve expanded that work to include software demos, common troubleshooting walkthroughs, and deep dives into the latest and greatest technology, always with a focus on being practical, honest, and helpful to the audience.
What inspired you to join Dell, and how did your role evolve into creating content for customers?
I’ve always been interested in Dell as an organization, and a referral is what ultimately opened the door for me. Walking through that door was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career, and I haven’t looked back since. Today, I get to support customers across the country, helping them put their employees first!
What skills have been most critical in your journey - both as a tech professional and as a content creator?
Above all else, leading with kindness. Support the people around you, not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s hard. Next would be to embracing continuous learning, as it truly never stops. In Play Nice But Win, Michael Dell captures this perfectly: do not aim to be the smartest person in the room. Instead, surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, teach you, inspire you, and push you to be better every day.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to combine a tech career with content creation?
Never lose sight of your purpose or the people you are doing this for. Be true to yourself and let your real personality come through. Even if it feels a bit cringe at first, I promise your communication skills will improve. You will start to notice things you never picked up on before, both verbal and non-verbal. With how far phone cameras have come, the barriers to getting started are actually quite low. You do not need to invest in expensive gear to begin. Most importantly, remember to have fun. That should always be at the top of your list. If it is not, do not be afraid to pause or step away.
How do you decide which products or features to highlight for your audience?
Start with the who and why, not the what! Listening to outcomes a customer is trying to achieve or problems they want to solve, and linking back to technology. Can it be explained in one sentence without jargon? If not, it’s probably too deep for this audience at this stage. Often content is curated based on product launch timelines and what I perceive is worth sharing. If there’s a gap in content out there, I try and fill it.
Empowered Connections at Dell

What Dell products or technologies excite you the most right now?
From Intel and AMD to Qualcomm, competition in silicon design is pushing the entire industry forward, delivering faster performance, better efficiency, and new capabilities with every generation of processors. One of the most exciting shifts is the rise of AI at the edge and on the PC. Modern platforms now integrate a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) alongside the CPU and GPU, intelligently distributing workloads across all three to optimize performance, power, and responsiveness for AI-driven applications. At Dell, we are embracing this architecture with the new Dell Pro Max with GB10, a small device that packs serious power. It is purpose-built for AI developers and data scientists who want desktop-class performance in an compact form factor, making it an ideal companion for building, testing, and deploying modern AI workloads.
How do you stay up-to-date with Dell’s latest innovations to keep your content fresh?
Thankfully, staying up to date on innovation is literally part of my role, so training and enablement are built into my day-to-day. I’m fortunate to have supportive leadership and encouraging teammates who are always willing to share what they know and help everyone grow. To also stay sharp, I regularly follow Dell thought leaders and solution experts through webinars and presentations, especially around Modern Workplace. This helps me hear how they translate complex concepts into plain language and real customer outcomes. I am constantly looking for fresh customer stories and case studies that show innovation in action. Then I weave those narratives into my content, so it feels real and current, not theoretical.
What’s one product feature you think customers often overlook but should know about?
One powerful but often overlooked feature customers should know about is the built‑in security in Dell commercial PCs and infrastructure… especially how much protection they get before they ever add extra security products. It stems from our supply chain with how we build our products, to the security that’s built in our devices, and then the security ecosystem that is built on.
Tell us about a time when you felt truly proud to be part of Dell.
I’ve had the opportunity to see the real impact of our technology advancing human progress with my customers that I support. I also appreciate that Dell takes its role in the world seriously through digital inclusion and community impact. Through our Employee Resource Groups, and programs like Girls Who Game, SOAR With Mentor, and Student TechCrew, we show that we are using our technology and talent to expand access and opportunity, not just to sell products.
