My name is Marina. I'm passionate about both technology and people. That's why I joined Dell Technologies eight years ago and my love for Dell began. I wanted to work at a company where I can use technology to drive human progress. I currently work in technical sales and am a co-leader of the Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) for Latin America.
How do you celebrate Pride Month?
Pride Month is a celebration of the struggles we overcome throughout our lives. I see it as a time to remember all our victories. People come from different backgrounds and experiences, and Pride Month is a celebration for remaining firm and being authentic ourselves. I am also aware of the privileges that allow me to celebrate this. I never forget to work for others to enjoy an inclusive and respectful society where all people can be their best, most beautiful selves.
How do you engage with the Pride community at Dell?
I believe the foundation of every action carried out that will have both internal and external impact is education. I work to educate our colleagues so everyone can feel happy here. When we educate others, the impact does not just stay within Dell. We are raising awareness and educating not simply employees, but people — people who will go to their homes, meet their friends and further the impact. Our internal actions help build better human beings for the world.
In what ways has the Pride ERG at Dell Technologies contributed to fostering a supportive network for members of the LGBTQ+ community, both personally and professionally?
When we think about our work environment, we often spend more time in these spaces than in our homes or with our families. We try to create a support network within our ERG. It is important to be in spaces where we recognize ourselves, where we can be inspired by others who we want to connect with. Dell is a diverse company, and Pride is a diverse ERG. We empower our team members to be themselves, and together we build an environment where everyone is respected and feels like they belong. At Pride, we provide guidelines that can help in moments of difficulty or misunderstanding. We have lip sync battles for a moment of relaxation and fun. We try to share our policies and culture externally so every company can be ready to welcome people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, ethnicities, beliefs, etc.
When specific causes don’t directly impact us, we often end up not paying attention to the importance they may have for someone else. We are continually working to ensure that everyone feels 100% represented within our culture and our actions. I am very proud to be part of the Pride and Dell Technologies family.

Can you share a specific initiative or project within the Pride ERG that you found particularly empowering or that made a positive difference in the workplace?
One of the actions that I am most proud was leading with our Brazil team is Dell's association with the São Paulo Trans Parade over the last two years. It is extremely important that externally, in addition to our internal actions, people know that Dell is an incredible company to work for. Because of this, we can attract incredible and diverse talent. Through our association with the parade, several other actions emerged, including promoting the importance of pronouns and neutral and inclusive language.
