Tell us about yourself.
I’m part of the Global Enterprise Architects community that serves Dell Technologies Select accounts, and I focus on creating the global technical strategy. I’ve been in this role for just over a year now, but my journey with Dell started in 2010 as a field support engineer. I am based in Milano, Italy, where my family relocated back in 1995 from former Yugoslavia. I basically grew up here and consider myself 100% Italian, but I travel often to the countries of my childhood.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my husband, spending time with friends, working out and competing with my husband in the kitchen. He’s a professional chef, and I enjoy cooking, too. Most times I win, but I think he lets me.
How do you celebrate Pride Month?
Pride Month is an important time of the year. People often associate it with rainbows, parties, parades and fun, but there’s more to it than that. Pride Month started by commemorating a rupture, an event that symbolizes a time of violence, repression and hiding. As a person who spent time hiding in the closet and pretending I had “friends” rather than boyfriends, this is particularly meaningful to me. I was lucky to be welcomed and accepted by my friends and family. People have always been supportive of me. Those who were initially reluctant or stayed a little more distant are now fully supportive. Does that acceptance have anything to do with Pride Month being a party and a good time? Probably, yes. That’s why I like to take people to the parades or travel across Europe and experience all the different celebrations.

How do you engage with the Pride community at Dell and/or in the community?
I came out at work in 2016. It was the year my husband proposed to me, and I thought it was the right time. I was quite open about it and reached out to HR, hoping I could start a Pride ERG chapter in Italy because we didn’t have one yet. In 2019, I helped launch our Pride ERG chapter in Italy. I’ve been very active in it ever since, organizing different events to spread awareness, collaborating with our Women in Action ERG and eventually taking the team to the Milano Pride Parade that year. In 2020, I was asked to become the Pride co-lead for our EMEA region. I’m still in that role today, ensuring that we actively advocate for Pride principles across all chapters in the region, as well as actively working on expanding our presence in countries that don’t have a Pride ERG chapter yet.
Can you share a specific initiative or project within the Pride ERG that you found particularly empowering or that made a positive difference in the workplace?
One of the best projects I was fortunate enough to work on was the “Be your authentic self” webinar. It was organized as a joint effort by the Pride, Women in Action and Mosaic ERGs. We hosted Caroline Farberger, a transgender Swedish business executive, motivational speaker and advocate. She is one of the first Swedish CEOs to transition, at the age of 49. She expressed a unique perspective on the workplace and shared invaluable insights into the nuanced treatment individuals face based on their gender in corporate life.
