3 Surprising Discoveries During My Dell Internship

Recently, we had the pleasure of speaking with Eduarda Strona, one of our talented interns from Dell Brazil, to gain insight into her experience at Dell Technologies. Eduarda shared some surprising discoveries she made during her internship, shedding light on the company's culture, growth opportunities and the aspects she appreciates most in her daily routine.

#1 – Dell's Culture: More Than Selling Products 

During my internship, I learned that Dell is not just about selling products; it's about offering personalized solutions. Working on the Finance Business Case, I saw firsthand how Dell prioritizes understanding customer needs and building lasting relationships. The "Client First" concept is deeply ingrained in the company's culture, emphasizing the importance of customer relationships. Internally, the teamwork policy fosters effective collaboration and communication, creating a welcoming environment for team development. As interns, we benefit greatly from this culture, having access to all employees and leaders through simple 1-on-1 meetings. 

   

#2 – Growth and Development Opportunities 

Dell offers incredible support for growth and development. Programs like the Financial Internship Program (FIP) provide finance interns with career development opportunities beyond their routine tasks. These programs allow us to explore different areas, understand the company's operations better and engage in activities and discussions that broaden our knowledge. The freedom to interact with various teams and leaders helps us build a strong network and learn beyond our immediate responsibilities. 

   

#3 – A Unique Internship Experience 

My experience at Dell so far has been incredible. I have been very surprised because the learning goes beyond daily tasks. I learn things that I will carry with me for life such as the development of soft skills. The environment is very welcoming, and colleagues are always willing to help and share knowledge. Interning at a company of this size offers a unique opportunity to understand real-world business operations. We are encouraged to learn, make mistakes and succeed, which has helped me grow both professionally and personally. The internship has helped me face my fears, especially the fear of speaking in public.  

Additionally, I have the support of various people to discuss my career and set growth and development goals. More than just routine or procedural activities, Dell has taught me to position myself and improve my skills within the company, offering various incentives for my personal and professional growth.
