At Dell Technologies’ Research and Development (R&D) Center in Poland, innovation meets collaboration. We sat down with Michal Krogulecki, Senior Manager of Software Engineering, to talk about his career journey, the culture that drives success, and why Dell is the place to shape the future.
How did your career evolve, and what led you to engineering leadership?
I began my professional journey during my final year of studies as an intern, eager to learn and contribute. That experience opened doors to a full-time role as a Software Engineer, where I honed my technical skills and learned the importance of teamwork. Over time, I transitioned into roles like Scrum Master and Software Development Leader, which taught me how to manage projects and people effectively. Eventually, I became a Software Engineering Manager and joined Dell Technologies over two years ago. Throughout my career, I have specialized in storage solutions—a field that perfectly aligns with Dell’s mission to drive human progress through technology. Today, I focus on empowering my team, guiding their growth, and ensuring we deliver impactful solutions globally.
What makes Dell Technologies’ culture unique for engineers?
Dell’s culture stands out because it prioritizes continuous learning and collaboration. We have access to global training portals, mentorship programs, and specialized sessions on emerging technologies like AI. Beyond technical growth, Dell fosters a feedback-driven environment where openness and improvement are encouraged. This culture ensures that every team member feels supported and motivated to innovate. It’s not just about completing tasks—it’s about growing together and shaping the future of technology.
One principle I live by is: ‘The road to success is always under construction.’ Continuous improvement is key, and feedback is the foundation of growth.

How is Dell embracing innovation and AI in engineering?
Innovation is embedded in Dell’s DNA. We encourage our teams to think creatively and dedicate time to innovation, whether through patent applications or hackathons. AI is transforming how we work—accelerating development, improving testing, and even automating meeting summaries. Apart from being an engineer, what interesting facts can you tell us about yourself?
My professional spirit animal is the eagle, symbolizing vision and perspective—qualities I value the most as a leader. On my desk, you’ll find a trusty speaker that makes long meetings more comfortable and efficient. When the afternoon slump hits, coffee is my go-to pick-me-up, often two or three cups a day! Outside of work, I am passionate about Formula 1 racing and love that Dell partners with McLaren, which blends my personal interests with professional pride.
