I started at Dell Technologies in October 2021 in the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) Sales Graduate Program and soon became part of the medium business team. I was Account Manager medium business for acquisition for about a year and then moved to a more mature retention account base. In November 2024, I made the step to Account Executive in the medium business segment.
I've finished a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Business Communication and Digital Media at Tilburg University. This has certainly helped me throughout my career as I've learned that communication, relationship building and understanding different persona's is all part of being successful in sales. However, I believe many degrees will be helpful when starting a career in sales, as it entails many different aspects.
If you are looking for a company that's at the forefront of technology development (e.g. AI) and are eager to learn, Dell Technologies is a great place to start your career. You can expect great support from all team members and plentiful possibilities regarding career development.

Can you describe your role as an Account Executive?
I am currently responsible for the medium business segment, meaning covering over 700 accounts and working together with eight Account Managers. My main role was focusing on the top deals of the quarter and working together with the teams and partners to make these a success. Also, the role involves a lot of time spent with customers, visiting their sites and consulting with them on a more long-term strategic level to see how Dell Technologies can help their company achieve their goals.
What are some activities that you enjoy at Dell Technologies Netherlands?
Together with several colleagues, I have given a restart to the Conexus Employee Resource Group (ERG) within Dell Technologies. Conexus stands for connecting our employees, both virtually and in-person. Together with the Conexus team, we've organized several events from “breakfast and learn” sessions to organizing Pubquizes together with partners. This has given me the opportunity to develop my leadership and organizational skills apart from my day-to-day job. Also, being able to participate in partner events as speaker or part of a panel is something I highly enjoy.
How has Dell contributed to your success?
Dell has definitely been a kick-start to my career in technology sales. I've been given the opportunity to be part of the Graduate Program, receiving in-depth training on both product level, but also sales and relationship management. Also, after the Graduate Program, I was able to participate in training and mentoring programs to continue my development.
What are your top 3 career lessons you have learned in general and from a sales perspective during your tenure at Dell?
- Firstly, being in charge of your own development is crucial. I've learned that everyone at Dell Technologies is happy to help you within your career development, however, you need to take the first step and be proactive.
- Secondly, in a more sales-perspective, I believe that time management and setting the right priorities is crucial to be successful in sales. It's important to spend time doing activities that in the end help you achieve your goals.
- Lastly, building strong relationships with both customers and partners is crucial and makes for the best foundation to do business together. Small gestures can make a big difference!
