Developing with Dell: Natália's Story From Finance Graduate to Global Auditor

Can you describe your Dell Technologies journey so far? 

I joined Dell in 2020 through the Finance Graduate Program (FGP) in Slovakia. It’s a one-year program designed for recent graduates, and it was the perfect launchpad for my career. After completing FGP, I moved into the Finance Development Program (FDP), a two-year global initiative that allowed me to rotate across different finance functions and build a broad skill set. During FGP and FDP, I rotated through several finance areas—Financial Planning, Sales Compensation, and Global Business Operations. My final rotation was in Global Audit & Transformation, and I immediately felt it was the right fit for my skills and interests. Once I completed the FDP, I joined the Global Audit & Transformation organization as an internal audit professional, which is where I am today. The development programs were truly transformative. They pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me build skills I still use every day. They also gave me the confidence to take ownership of my career path. 

What have been the biggest moments in your journey so far? 

One of the biggest highlights was becoming Co-Lead of the Finance Graduate Program and later Lead of the EMEA FDP Alumni Council—each for a year. These roles were in addition to my core responsibilities, and they gave me the chance to mentor new talent and develop leadership skills. Supporting others as they navigated their own development journeys was incredibly fulfilling. 

   

What are the perks of joining Dell as a finance graduate? 

One major perk is the ability to explore different finance roles in a short time. Many graduates, including myself, aren’t sure which specific path to take. Dell’s development programs let you try out various roles and figure out what suits you best. Another highlight is the global exposure. As part of the FDP, I attended conferences in Singapore and the United States, which gave me the chance to meet colleagues from around the world and build a global network. 

   

How has Dell contributed to your growth and development? 

Dell has played a huge role in shaping my career. Through the graduate programs, I got to work on real projects, explore different areas of finance, and discover what I truly enjoy. I’ve taken on leadership roles, traveled internationally, and learned from amazing mentors and teammates. All of this helped me build confidence and grow both professionally and personally. 

What advice would you give to recent graduates starting their careers in finance? 

Trust your instincts—especially when it comes to what you enjoy and where you feel you could excel. That’s usually a great starting point. Focus on developing the skills that excite you, because at Dell, there are plenty of opportunities to apply and grow those strengths in meaningful ways. 

  

What’s life at Dell like beyond the job description? 

Being part of FGP and FDP felt a bit like continuing university—we were a “class” of fresh graduates, all going through the same experience together. We built strong friendships that have lasted well beyond the program. The atmosphere is collaborative, supportive, and full of opportunities to connect beyond your day-to-day role.
