Ever since elementary school, soccer has been my passion. I pursued it relentlessly through university, driven by a determination to excel. The outcome is everything in the competitive world of sports, so lacking skill means going unnoticed. When I entered the workforce, I yearned for the same environment that would recognize and reward my outcome, specifically based on performance. I think it's fair.
Additionally, international companies captivated me. I was fascinated by contributing to someone's life with products. Dell Technologies stood out with high quality and high reputation products. So, I chose to build my career at Dell.
Though I initially aimed for a role in inside sales, I decided to start my career in technical support to gain essential technical knowledge. Having devoted most of my student life to soccer, I admittedly neglected my studies. Studying was challenging. I often found myself struggling and needing to retake exams. However, through dedication, utilizing early mornings and post-work hours, and the support of my colleagues, I gradually earned recognition as a technical support.
Upon joining the company, my ambition was to rise to a managerial position. I seized the opportunity to shadow those duties as a quality lead in my team, taking responsibility for team education. I was nervous to be a manager in my twenties, but with my wife's support, I applied for a manager position. I got it.
As a manager, I found myself presented with opportunities beyond just team management. Spearheading a project to enhance global technical support organization's performance, I became responsible for improving service quality and productivity in Japan. This meant managing a team of over 100 members and collaborating with stakeholders in the Asia Pacific Japan region. I necessitated significant operational and tool changes. I found myself involved in organizational management on a broader scale than I had initially envisioned.
Now, I've been in a manager position for over four years. I prioritize the well-being and growth of each team member, considering both their present and future development.
Thriving in the environment at Dell Technologies requires the courage to seize opportunities and create pathways to success. Preparedness is key. The more trust and expectation the people around you place in you, the more opportunities will come your way.
Here at Dell Technologies, if there are challenges you wish to take on, rest assured that ample support will be provided by those around you. You'll never be left to face them alone. At the first step, even without specialized technical knowledge, your perseverance and eagerness to learn will become your greatest assets. Forge your desired career path with confidence and determination.
