Orchestrating Impact: Ziad’s Path to Empowering Teams at Dell

Ziad Abdelrazek | Advisor, Services Project/Program Management | Egypt

What inspired you to join Dell, and how has your journey here shaped your skills and career in ways you didn’t expect?
I didn’t join Dell just looking for a job—I was looking for a career, a place where I could grow, learn, and challenge myself every day. Dell has given me exactly that. I’ve come to appreciate that true growth comes from both expanding your knowledge and learning how to empower and help the people around you.

What’s one idea you’ve brought to life at Dell that reflects your personal values or cultural perspective—and how did Dell’s environment help make it possible?
I’ve had the privilege of leading an initiative within our business unit focused on team engagement and bonding. I believe that building connections and fostering collaboration is something important and to be valued. I have the privilege of working with a team who share the same values and put in the effort to impact our team’s spirit and energy.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned while working at Dell, and how has it influenced the way you approach your work?
Everything is about the people! No matter how busy or important you may be, keeping your door open and being willing to help, listen, and provide guidance makes all the difference. This approach not only strengthens relationships but also creates a culture where people feel supported and empowered to do their best work.

Ziad Discusses Developing Skills at Dell

How has Dell’s culture of innovation and collaboration helped you grow both personally and professionally?
Dell’s culture has taught me that success is never a solo act. You might be the best at what you do, but leadership isn’t about individual achievements—it’s about how you support, uplift, and collaborate with those around you, whether they manage you, you manage them, or you simply work side by side. This mindset has influenced me both professionally and personally, because without people and collaboration, there’s only so far you can go.

If you had to explain your job to a 5-year-old, how would you describe it in one sentence?
I’m like the maestro of an orchestra—I don’t play every instrument myself, but I make sure everyone works together in harmony to create something amazing.

If your role at Dell were a movie, what would the title be?
The People.

If your Dell experience were a recipe, what would the key ingredients be?
Hard work, consistency, and genuine care for others.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone looking to build a career at Dell, based on your own experience, what would it be?
Don’t be shy to ask questions or to seek guidance and mentorship from senior colleagues—people are more open to helping than you might think. And take advantage of large amount of learning opportunities and materials Dell provides. If you stay curious and keep learning, your career here will keep growing with you.
