There’s a lot to gain through just a simple conversation with her. Here are her top three tips for balancing a career with motherhood.
Tip 1: Create your support system
Creating a support system is crucial for working moms to manage their responsibilities effectively and maintain their well-being. Ensuring a balanced division of household tasks can foster a sense of support for both partners. Consider utilizing resources such as daycare centers, extended family assistance, or hiring help for household chores. Don't hesitate to accept help when it's offered. Many people genuinely want to support you, so allow yourself to receive assistance without feeling guilty.
Tip 2: Let go of the mom guilt
Letting go of the mom guilt is essential for working moms. When feelings of guilt arise, challenge them with rational thinking. Ask yourself if your guilt is based on realistic expectations or if it's influenced by societal pressures or unrealistic standards. Instead of dwelling on the amount of time you spend with your children, focus on making the time you do have together meaningful and memorable.
Tip 3: Take time for self-care
Juggling multiple responsibilities is no cakewalk. Prioritize self-care activities to recharge and reduce stress. Take time out for hobbies, interests or activities that bring joy and fulfillment can enhance emotional well-being and prevent burnout. This also sets a positive example for children, demonstrating the importance of self-love and self-respect. Overall, self-care is not a luxury but a necessity for working moms to thrive personally and professionally.
