I’m Saba, and I’ve been fortunate to call Dell Technologies my professional home for the past three years. Currently, I’m part of the Client Solutions Group Product and Solutions Marketing team, where I specialize in crafting compelling messaging for our Modern Workplace portfolio. This includes everything from PCs and Accessories to AI and IT Services, as well as initiatives in sustainability.
My journey into marketing began after earning both my bachelor's in finance and Master’s of Science in Marketing from the University of Texas (Hook ‘em, Horns!). Since then, I’ve been all about infusing in everything I do. One of the most exciting aspects of my role is developing messaging strategies for our latest AI-powered PCs, showcasing their potential to transform the workplace experience through innovation.
Beyond work, you will either catch me at the gym, crafting or enjoying the witty charm of my favorite show, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."
What piece of advice would you give to your early in career self?
One piece of advice I would give to my younger self early in my career is to "say yes to the things that scare you." It's easy to stick to comfortable tasks, but real growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone. Embracing intimidating opportunities builds resilience and confidence, showing you that you're capable of more than you initially thought. These experiences can lead to unexpected rewards, uncovering hidden talents and new interests and opening doors you never considered. Embrace the fear, take the leap and say yes to the opportunities that scare you. It will not only propel your career, but also your personal growth.
How did the program prepare you for a permanent position?
The Marketing Development Program (MDP) was instrumental in preparing me for my permanent position by offering me the chance to explore different roles and teams within the company. Coming straight out of college, it can be daunting to dive right into the professional world and figure out what you truly enjoy. It’s similar to choosing a major in college—you might have an idea of what you want to pursue, but MDP provides the flexibility to try various things and discover your niche and the perfect fit for you.
Through MDP, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the company and its marketing organization. The rotational nature of the program allowed me to experience firsthand the diverse aspects of marketing, which was invaluable. Along the way, I built a strong network, connecting with colleagues and mentors I wouldn't have met otherwise. These connections were crucial for my professional growth and development.
Being hands-on with different projects enabled me to acquire a wide range of skills and insights. This hands-on experience was crucial in helping me see the marketing team as a cohesive unit rather than isolated silos. By understanding how each part of the organization fits together, I felt well-prepared and confident stepping into my permanent role. The MDP experience was not just about finding the right position; it was about growing as a professional and understanding the broader landscape of the marketing field.

What has been a standout moment of your career at Dell so far?
One of the most unforgettable highlights of my career at Dell Technologies was attending Dell Technologies World. Witnessing the culmination of countless hours and months of dedicated effort in creating breakout sessions and developing demo ideas for the expo floor was nothing short of amazing. I had the opportunity to contribute to the AI PC breakout session, which involved meticulous planning and content creation. The session turned out to be a huge success, sparking significant interest among the attendees.
What truly stood out to me was engaging directly with customers on the expo floor. Talking to them about our latest AI PCs, seeing their eyes light up with excitement, and having in-depth conversations about the technology we developed was incredibly rewarding. Their positive reactions validated all the hard work and highlighted the real-world impact of our innovations.
What are the most valuable skills you've learned?
One of the most valuable skills I've learned is the power of using visuals to explain complex ideas. Work is fast-paced, and not everyone has the time or background to dive deep into the little details. That's where visuals come in—I love creating visuals that can break down complicated concepts quickly and effectively. Whether it's through infographics, diagrams or simple sketches, visual aids help make my message clear and engaging.
What is your favorite part of working at Dell?
The collaborative teamwork at Dell is truly exceptional—it's not just about working together, but about learning and growing together every single day. I find myself constantly inspired by my peers, each bringing their unique perspectives and expertise to the table. It's like a daily masterclass where I learn something new and valuable with every interaction. I can't help but think, "teamwork really does make the dream work." What's even more inspiring is how our team embraces innovation and creativity. We're encouraged to think outside the box, and our ideas are not only heard but valued. It's one of the many reasons why working at Dell feels more like being part of a supportive and forward-thinking community than just a job.
