Developing with Dell Technologies: Charlotte's Experience in Dell's Marketing Development Program

What are some of the most valuable experiences you've had during your time in Dell’s Marketing Development Program (MDP)?

I have enjoyed the opportunity to explore various roles within our Marketing organization, engaging in meaningful networking with leaders who demonstrate a keen interest in our perspectives. Additionally, I have had on-site experiences where I expanded my knowledge and skills. My MDP experience has allowed me to connect with individuals from around the world.


Could you highlight any standout projects or opportunities you've had a chance to work on?

I have participated in numerous Dell-related projects and events. I had the privilege of attending the Formula 1 employee event with McLaren in Austin and contributing to the identification of luminary speakers for Dell Tech World (DTW) that are then pitched to our executive leadership. I am also set to participate in the Field Readiness Summit (FRS) in Austin, Dell's sales kickoff for the year, and invited to travel to New York City for the product release of Alienware and XPS products slated for 2024. I take ownership of each of my assigned projects and am genuinely enthusiastic about my team. These hands-on, in-person experiences with Dell events have been invaluable, and I am grateful for this incredible opportunity after just graduating this spring.


What inspired you to apply for Dell’s MDP, and how has it impacted your career?

Before joining MDP, I worked in the Client Solutions Group (CSG) organization, focusing on sales and marketing. Following my second internship in CSG, I decided to focus on a more comprehensive understanding of global marketing, which led me to discover the MDP. I can genuinely state that this decision stands as the best career choice I have ever made. The unique structure of the program, which provides me the chance to learn from four distinct roles across the Global Marketing organization, has proven to be an invaluable opportunity. Simultaneously, it has enabled me to develop and explore areas of professional interest, providing invaluable insights that will undoubtedly shape my future.


What advice would you offer to potential applicants who are considering joining Dell’s MDP?

I would encourage them to trust the process. I was nervous about the prospect of being assigned to an unknown team for my first rotation, and now I absolutely love my team. My MDP manager knew exactly where to place me for my first role, and I could not have had a better first semester in the program.
