Hi! My name is Lee Kar Phen, I’m 28 years old, and I have proudly served as a Senior Procurement Analyst at Dell for the past 3 years. In that time, I have had the opportunity to work at the heart of Dell’s global supply chain operations by ensuring that the components are sourced from the right suppliers on time and with the quality our brand is known for. From driving data-driven purchasing strategies to managing various purchase orders and supplier invoices, my role combines precision, problem-solving, and innovative thinking. Procurement at Dell isn’t just about managing orders—it’s about laying the groundwork that fuels innovation. Fueling Innovation: Behind the Scenes as a Dell Procurement Analyst

  

I joined Dell Technologies in 2021 as a contract Procurement Analyst and transitioned to a permanent role in 2022, continuing in the same position. My role centers on ensuring smooth procurement operations to support Dell’s supply chain and production needs. On a daily basis, I review supply and demand forecasts to align procurement plans with production schedules, manage purchase orders, and oversee the placement, tracking, and coordination of deliveries to ensure timely receipt of components. I also handle any supplier invoice issues, working closely with accounts payable to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payments.

   

An important aspect of my role involves managing deviations, which allow parts from different suppliers with similar specifications or configurations to fulfill customer orders. This flexibility helps prevent production delays and ensures customer satisfaction. Additionally, I analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support budgeting and strategic sourcing initiatives. By leveraging tools like Excel Macros and Power BI, I continuously optimize procurement processes, making daily tasks more efficient for the team. Being part of Dell’s procurement team allows me to contribute directly to the efficiency and success of a global leader, and support Dell’s commitment to excellence.

My role is not just about procuring parts, it’s about ensuring innovation never has to wait.
