Denis' Career Journey at Dell Technologies

What is your current role?
I joined the EMEA APEX Acceleration Team on day one and now I am currently running the Dell Technologies APEX business for France.
Why did you decide to join Dell Technologies?
I started my career working at Procter & Gamble as a Field Service Representative for 5 years. It was a great experience but my interest in technology was growing, and I wanted to do something different. I wanted a job that would match the things that I love, and Dell Technologies was a perfect fit. Eventually I was lucky enough to join Dell Technologies in September 2015.
How many roles did you have during your tenure at Dell Technologies?

APEX Cloud Sales is my 4th role at Dell Technologies within my 7 years here, but I started as an Inside Sales Representative in France. After 18 months, we successfully worked through the biggest merge in IT business when Dell combined with EMC. During this time, Dell wanted to test the ability of Sales by placing them in charge of the Data Protection Solutions (DPS) coming from EMC. My entrepreneurial spirit was excited because the merge was similar to creating a startup business. After a successful year long mission, Dell Technologies deployed DPS teams across EMEA, and I was originally assigned on a team with 22 other people. Thankfully I built trust with my team and the company, and I eventually was promoted to a manager running my own team of 11 people. Managing a multi-cultural team and building strategies across countries has been both exciting and instructive. After 3 and a half years in this area, I heard about APEX and my interest sparked up again.
I was given the opportunity to join the APEX Acceleration Team EMEA on day one to run the French business. It was time to go back to developing Cloud Experiences for our customers and partners and ensuring our teams can share that messaging.

How has Dell Technologies contributed to your success?

Dell Technologies has contributed to my success on many instances. Dell is a company that offers a wide range of roles and the ability to explore paths that align to your ambitions. Additionally, working at Dell Technologies has given me the opportunity to collaborate and network with so many inspiring colleagues and leaders. Also, I will never forget all the support I received from HR throughout my career and how they’ve helped with identifying available opportunities.
What are you most proud of?
My journey is so incredible and still ongoing, and I have so many more great memories with colleagues, customers, and partners to make. I think that I’m most proud of the last deal I just completed, the last team member I helped, and the last partner I collaborated with. My answer may be surprising, but I still have that inspired and motivated spirit. When you love what you do, your latest success will always be the one you are the proudest of.
Did you ever think you would be where you are today?
Not at all! Life is generally full of surprises and that especially holds true when you join such a great company. Everything IS possible, it just depends on you.

What would you say to encourage others to join Dell Technologies?
Well, I hope my testimony will be meaningful enough. I would say that mentorship at Dell Technologies has helped me a lot and you will definitely find genuine people to assist you through this journey.
