Designing scalable impact through IoT and Edge Innovation
As a Senior Consultant (Field Architect) at Dell Technologies, my role centers on turning complex technology into real‑world impact. I specialize in IoT, Smart Cities, and Edge Solutions, working closely with customers and internal teams to design and deliver scalable, secure, and meaningful systems. A significant part of my work involves architecting solutions that integrate edge computing, smart devices, analytics, and AI, ensuring they align with both customer needs and Dell’s broader technology portfolio and innovation strategy. Beyond solution design, I’m deeply involved in customer workshops, strategic conversations, and enablement sessions, helping organizations understand how emerging technologies can drive transformation. It’s a dynamic role that blends deep technical expertise with business insight, allowing me to stay hands‑on while thinking long‑term.
A workplace defined by people, trust, and collaboration
What I love most about working at Dell Technologies is the people and the culture we share. From the moment I joined nine months ago, I felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. Early on, a colleague reached out with a thoughtfully curated collection of resources—technology decks, internal tools, and process guides—to help me get oriented. It wasn’t a small gesture; it was personal, intentional, and set the tone for the kind of environment Dell fosters. Since then, I’ve consistently experienced that same spirit of collaboration across teams, whether it’s someone taking the time to answer a question or walking me through a new tool. There’s a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and trust here—an environment where you’re encouraged to bring your authentic self to work, speak up, and take ownership while maintaining balance.
Every step of the journey led me here
Looking back on my career, I wouldn’t change a thing. While my path wasn’t always smooth, every challenge, detour, and moment of uncertainty shaped who I am today. Those experiences pushed me to explore new areas, build resilience, and discover my passion for IoT, Smart Cities, and teaching. One achievement that makes me pause and think, “younger me would be proud,” is developing deep expertise in IoT and Smart City solutions—from architecting scalable systems to contributing to Smart Nation initiatives and Smart Campus projects that improve lives. Another milestone is becoming an adjunct lecturer at Singapore Management University, where I teach Cyber‑Physical Systems. Standing in front of a classroom, mentoring future engineers and innovators, feels like a full‑circle moment and a chance to give back while staying connected to emerging technologies.
Finding confidence, voice, and belonging as a woman in STEM
As a woman in STEM, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is not to let self‑doubt hold me back. Imposter Syndrome is real, especially when you’re one of the few women in the room. Early in my career, particularly during large‑scale IoT and Smart Nation projects, I often questioned whether my ideas were worth sharing. At times, I stayed quiet in complex technical discussions. But my teams made sure I was heard, encouraging me to speak up and reminding me that my perspective mattered. That support helped shape who I’ve become today. My advice to other women considering STEM is simple: stay curious, find mentors and allies, speak up, celebrate every win, and be authentic. You don’t need to fit a mold to succeed. STEM needs diverse voices, and your ideas truly matter.
