How Eva Leads Dell's Internal Ambassador Program, Amplifying Authentic Employee Voices

Eva Grand | Dell Internal Ambassadors Program Manager | United States

Hi, I’m Eva Grand! I grew up in Nicaragua and moved to the U.S. as a teenager, experiencing life in two cultures that shaped how I see the world. That blend of perspectives influences everything I do, especially the way I connect with people and tell stories that bring ideas to life.

I lead Dell’s Internal Ambassador Program, where we partner with employees who have an established social media presence to share authentic stories that amplify the brand. Through employee-generated content, we bring Dell’s culture, innovation, and impact to life in ways that feel genuine and relatable. What began as a small pilot over three years ago has evolved into one of Dell’s leading levers for end-to-end employee advocacy.

Every day in my role looks different, and that’s what keeps it exciting. One moment I’m collaborating with ambassadors on new content ideas; the next, I’m partnering with the Social Business team on ambassador-led event coverage, refining strategy to showcase Dell’s story through employee voices, or occasionally even appearing in a Dell Technologies World recap video myself!

What led you to a role in Internal Dell Ambassadors relations?

I joined Dell four years ago. For the first two years, I led the Small Business/B2B Influencer Program, where we partnered with well-known creators to connect with small business owners and entrepreneurs in meaningful ways. Two years into that journey, I had the opportunity to take Dell’s Internal Ambassador Program from pilot to always-on. While I loved working with external influencers, there was something uniquely fulfilling about building Dell’s influence from the inside out through our most valuable storytellers: our own team members.

What skills or experiences helped you succeed in this niche of social media marketing?

I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of storytelling and strategy. That’s really what led me into this niche of social media marketing. Over time, I’ve learned that success in social media comes down to understanding people, building trust, and helping others tell stories that feel genuine. My background in content strategy, public relations, and creative storytelling has been key to shaping Dell’s approach to employee advocacy and building influence from the inside out.

How does Dell’s culture influence your approach to the Dell Internal Ambassadors program strategy?

Dell’s culture of innovation and adaptability shapes everything I do. Innovation here isn’t just about technology; it’s about creativity, collaboration, and finding new ways to tell our story. That mindset enables a test-and-learn approach to the Internal Ambassador Program strategy, helping us keep content authentic, relevant, and adaptable as the social landscape evolves.

If Dell’s internal brand had a personality, how would you describe it?

I’d say Dell’s Internal Ambassadors brand is dynamic, multifaceted, and self-starting, a reflection of the people who bring our culture to life every day.

What skills do you think are essential for someone in internal influencer relations?

Strong relationship-building skills, a keen eye for authentic storytelling, and strategic thinking are essential. You have to understand people: their voices, perspectives, and motivations, and help them share stories that feel genuine while aligning with the brand’s bigger picture.

If you could give every employee one tip for building their personal brand, what would it be?

Perfection is the biggest roadblock to building your personal brand. Start small, stay authentic, and focus on progress over perfection. Once you get started, you’ll naturally find your niche and begin to see what resonates, and what doesn’t.

What advice would you give someone who wants to break into this field?

Lean into cross-functional opportunities. Early in my career, I was often told to stay on one path to build deep expertise, but what truly shaped me were the roles that let me wear many hats. From hybrid positions that blended communications and social media to multicultural and bilingual-focused work, those experiences helped me see the bigger picture, build from the ground up, and stay adaptable. They taught me that versatility and curiosity are some of the most valuable tools you can have in social media and in any career.

What are your hobbies and passions outside of work?

Outside of work, I love staying active—strength training, running (I’m training for my first half marathon!), and I recently picked up skiing. I also volunteer with Stars of Honor, a nonprofit that celebrates young leaders, helping them grow their social presence and share stories that make an impact.
