At Dell Technologies, we are committed to actively working towards equity for all, and our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) help to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, creating a sense of inclusion for all. Over 52% of our team members participate in at least one of the 13 ERGs, and we have 490 ERG chapters in 82 countries across four regions worldwide.
Marina Almeida is a Technical Sales Representative at Dell Technologies Brazil and the Latin America (LATAM) leader of Pride ERG. She shares with us her experience being part of and leading an ERG and working in a company that embraces diversity and inclusion.
How do you find the diversity and inclusion (D&I) at Dell?
Diversity and inclusion are culturally intrinsic within Dell. In addition to 13 ERGs focused on different "affinity groups," Dell has the Diversity Committee to encourage both internal actions taken by the ERGs and external actions to attract, retain and develop diverse talent. Dell encourages employees to be part of these groups and, beyond that, to work to make our work environment safe and inclusive for everyone who is or will be part of our company.

What are the benefits of ERGs?
The transformation that ERGs bring to the company is evident. Several different activities are executed to promote not only an ethical, socially responsible, safe environment but also a sense of belonging. What is better in life than being happy? We believe that happy people accomplish even more incredible things, not only for the company but also for others. Being part of an ERG enables us to become better human beings and improve society.

What are you most proud of in your journey at Dell related to D&I?
Accepting the challenge of leading Pride is one of the things I am most proud of because we are working daily to create policies around acceptance and inclusion, which can affect factors related to both employability and society. Being part of Pride has always been the right choice for me and one of the most genuine parts of my journey. I always knew what a challenge it would be leading our efforts to create inclusive environments where everyone can feel represented by our actions and, above all, feel like they belong at Dell.

Have you participated in any activities at Dell around D&I?
Countless. Today, as one of Pride's leaders, we have developed a series of educational content for our employees through Pride Talks over the past few years, where in addition to "teaching," we learn a lot with each of these activities. Last year, I had the opportunity to lead, together with the Pride Brazil team, Dell's appearance at the trans march in São Paulo, which takes place close to the pride parade and has an employability fair for transgender people.

Last October, I had the opportunity to be in Las Vegas for the largest global event for companies to address issues in the LGBTQIA+ community, Out & Equal, where Dell was a platinum sponsor. All these actions help us grow not only as professionals but also encourage us to be better human beings in the world.

Do you feel as though you've found your place at Dell?
No doubt. At Dell, I feel like I belong. I have a team that supports me and encourages me to always be and give my best. Within my segment, I am able to develop daily without fear of being judged for my sexual orientation or gender identity. I am happy and fulfilled working not only with Pride but with a team that allows me to be myself and deliver my best personal and professional self.
