How has your career progressed since joining Dell Technologies?
I joined Dell Technologies in April 2010 as a Senior Software Engineer. Over the years, I’ve grown into the role of Senior Principal Software Engineer, Program Product Owner. My journey has been rooted in enterprise storage and server systems, and I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to key products like Storage Resource Management (SRM), Virtual Provisioning Controller (ViPR), Virtual Processing and Execution (VPLEX), Open Managed Enterprise (OME), and PowerSizer for PowerMax. A few defining moments include stepping into Product Owner roles, becoming a Security Champion, mentoring engineers, and leading cross-functional teams. I’ve also been fortunate to receive recognitions like the Game Changer Award in 2024 and a special mention for Best Business Value during the 2025 Hackathon.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
My day is a mix of collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership. I start with team stand-ups and sprint planning, followed by technical reviews or design discussions. I also spend time aligning with stakeholders, mentoring team members, and ensuring our products meet security standards. No two days are the same, and that’s what keeps it exciting.
Which tools and technologies do you rely on most?
I work with a wide range of technologies. On the programming side, I use Java, C, C++, and Python. For frameworks, SpringBoot are key. I also work extensively with storage platforms like PowerMax and VPLEX, and distributed systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Cassandra, and Redis. Tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Git are part of my daily workflow.
What advice would you give to students and early-career professionals aspiring to join Dell Technologies?
Focus on mastering the fundamentals—data structures, algorithms, and system design. Be curious and stay updated with emerging technologies like AI/ML and microservices. Understanding Agile practices and secure coding is also important. And don’t underestimate the value of soft skills—communication and collaboration go a long way in a global organization like Dell.
What do you enjoy most about working at Dell Technologies?
The culture of innovation stands out. Dell encourages new ideas through hackathons and innovation platforms. I’ve had the freedom to lead initiatives and mentor others, and I work with incredibly talented people across the globe. The recognition for impactful work and the opportunity to build solutions that power global infrastructure make it a truly fulfilling experience.
