How has the Marketing Development Program (MDP) contributed to your professional growth and career development at Dell?

MDP is a robust program. Our entire program is segmented into four semesters where we have a mix of rotation work, committee work and syllabus tasks, such as individual and group projects, all while learning from comprehensive sessions at workshops and conferences. It is IN-CRE-DI-BLE! I have a Communications and PR background, so being an MDP participant has enabled me to go beyond my academic focus areas and gain tremendous business and marketing acumen. Our MDP managers, Jennifer Bennett and Casey Sabatini, have put so much effort into making this program an amazing experience. I am truly grateful to have started my career at Dell Technologies in such an insightful, engaging and awesome program.

What advice would you offer to potential applicants who are considering joining Dell’s MDP?
Enter MDP with an open mind. You are going to be pushed out of your comfort zone. Knowing that, does it bother you, or does it excite you? Think carefully about your answer before you consider joining MDP. It is for those who are ready to adapt whenever a challenge or opportunity presents itself, and it is especially for those who love to learn and grow!

In what ways has the program fostered a sense of community and collaboration among participants, and how might this benefit new members?

Beyond work-related tasks, we have the pleasure to connect with our fellow MDP participants and team members outside of the program. This could include volunteering with our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) or attending fun networking sessions. How often do you get to say that you attended a virtual tea tasting event with your global team members? I absolutely love how MDP leaders and participants put their hearts into bringing us all together in these special moments.

In addition to team-bonding activities, we can sign up for the Marketing Internship Program (MIP) Campus Teams. Getting involved with the MIP Campus Teams enables us to collaborate on event planning and execution, manage interview processes, and support students with their career aspirations at Dell Technologies. I have the honor to serve on the Latin and Hispanic Campus Team and often give back to my alma mater, Florida International University, by planning and hosting recruitment events. This is an inspiring volunteer opportunity because we get to change lives while directly impacting the future of our company.

What unique opportunities does the MDP offer that could be a game-changer for those looking to excel in their careers at Dell?

Networking. Networking. Networking! There is no better way to grow and nurture your network at Dell Technologies than through such a comprehensive program like MDP. The level of exposure we get to the plethora of teams within Marketing is amazing. Not only that, but team members know that you are entry-level and eager to learn new things. You will receive more support than you could imagine. Knowing this, make sure to cultivate your connections by providing them with support of your own.
