Hi! My name is Tasha! I’m in the Marketing Development Program and recently hit my one-year mark (whoop!), so I’m halfway through the program. I graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX in 2022 with my Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance minor. I like to say that I am a “split-brain” person; I am detail-oriented and passionate about analytics, but I also want to make sure everything I touch is more creative, fun, and useful than when I found it.

I came to Dell in the Summer of 2022 as a Finance intern. I loved the people I worked with but wanted to move more towards Marketing. I networked the entire summer through over 50 one-on-one conversations and applied for the MDP with my fingers crossed. I’m still in awe that I get to work here!

Please share a bit about your current and any past roles you’ve had in the program.

My first role was as the Microsoft Screenfill Approval Process Lead in Alliances and Partner Marketing. I used brand guidelines from our partners (Microsoft & Intel, in this case) to make sure that our creative content was compliant and therefore eligible to be funded by the partners.

My second role was a Change Management role titled Marketing Knowledge Management Analyst in the Strategic Transformations and Agency Relations organization under Brant Gonzalez. I oversaw our team’s SharePoint site, and I created a dashboard to run analytics so they could track success. I also filmed, edited, and produced two promotional videos, which was so much fun.

My third (and current) role is a Junior Creative Strategist in the Brand, Creative, and Experiential organization. I work closely with Dell Blue, our internal creative agency, where I have been collaborating with different teams to make sure the marketing we put out is strategic, thought out, and tells a story.

How has the program fostered a sense of community and collaboration between participants, and how might this benefit new members?

I moved here a month after starting the program, I was honestly so scared. I had just graduated, had never lived away from home and my family, and knew maybe two people in Austin. I was so worried I would not find my people. Right off the bat, I made an effort to encourage other MDP participants to come to the office and quickly fell in love with how kind everyone is here. I’ve found some of my very best friends in this program (even some who aren’t located in Austin) who I never would have met had it not been for this program.

What advice would you offer to potential applicants who are considering joining MDP?

I don’t have advice so much as a question – why not? Having four individual and different roles in two years, a well-formulated professional and self-improvement syllabus to follow, a community of people your age who share your passions, and a great program management team – it’s all absolutely invaluable.
