My name is Chaz Alexander, and I am on the Global Sponsorships team here at Dell Technologies, managing our Bay Area sponsorships. I also lead the sponsorships team social media strategy, leading timely engagements with our partners and strategizing organic social media posts that highlight the great relations we have with our partners.
I graduated from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2022 and started at Dell Technologies after graduation in the Marketing Development Program (MDP). I am originally from Marblehead, MA, but I now live in Boston, MA, and am an avid sports fan that typically finds himself by the beach on the weekends when the weather is warm!
Why did you decide to join the Marketing Development Program?
I joined the MDP because it gave me an opportunity to start my career and grow from a young college student into the budding young professional I am today. With the program putting you into a total of four different six-month rotations across our marketing organization, I was able to build a variety of helpful marketing skills, while also giving me the opportunity to learn what I wanted to do in marketing. Marketing is such a broad term, spanning from events to social media to campaigns, and this being my first job out of college, I had no idea where I wanted to end up. With the program, I was able to learn what I loved to do through different experiences, ultimately leading me into a position on the Global Sponsorships team that I didn’t even know was a marketing opportunity prior to joining the company.
How did the MDP prepare you for your current position?
MDP gave me the opportunity to really be a sponge, and try soak up any information, learning different skill sets across marketing. I have worked in experiential roles, operational roles and creative roles all over my time here, and in each different role, I have had to call on different skills to be successful in each. I think a lot of these skills that I have developed help me in my current role today, spanning from strong organization skills, communication skills and having a growth mindset that allows me to really feel like I can succeed in any given situation. The program doesn’t allow you to ever feel complacent at work, training you to be able to achieve in an ambiguous environment, and I have taken that mindset into my role now and have been able to feel comfortable with ambiguity.
As I started my career, I found myself dealing with a bit of imposter syndrome, as the business world can be intimidating as you transition from a college student to a young, working professional. To get over this obstacle, I strove to become a high performer in my program, always looking for feedback on how to improve, and now today, I always take a step back and remind myself that I am here for a reason and can be an asset to Dell Technologies!

What advice would you give to your younger self?
One piece of advice that I would give myself would be to not fall victim to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is a psychological experience that many people experience, where individuals may feel like they are in a position that they are not qualified to be in even though their history and evidence suggests the contrary!

What has been a standout moment of your career at Dell Technologies so far?
In talking about the supportive culture here at Dell, one thing I am proud of is being voted to give my cohort’s graduation speech from the MDP. I really do feel at home at Dell and being able to summarize the great experience that the program offered and being nominated by my peers to go ahead and do that was a really cool moment and one that I won’t forget!
What is your favorite part about working at Dell Technologies?
A couple of things come to mind, but the first would be the people! My team is awesome, we are all very likeminded individuals that are high performing and want to succeed, and they made me feel welcomed right away when I started. The culture at Dell is also very inclusive, and there is an emphasis on happiness in and out of the workplace from management, which definitely leads to me feeling energized by the work I do.
For me, one of the coolest things about my job is being able to work closely with sports organizations and teams and be surrounded by sports, all while still working at such a successful, cutting-edge technology company!
