Discovering Growth and Inclusion at Dell: Jay's Journey

Hello everyone, I'm Jay, a student at National Taiwan University. I began my journey with Dell Technologies in February 2024 as an intern in the Talent Acquisition team. Over the past five months, I've had the incredible opportunity to contribute to various projects, including preparatory work for campus job fairs, serving as a campus ambassador, participating in campus recruitment activities, internal recruitment and a diversity and inclusion awareness project.
One of the most remarkable aspects of my experience at Dell Technologies has been the people. Despite being an intern, my colleagues genuinely value my opinions and encourage my input during project discussions. This inclusive and supportive environment has fostered a sense of shared success and camaraderie whenever we complete a project.
At Dell Technologies, two key elements stand out to me: flexible working hours and the strong support for diversity and inclusion. Flexible working hours have allowed me to optimize my performance, accommodating both external factors and my personal well-being. This flexibility has been crucial in maintaining high efficiency and productivity.
Dell Technologies' commitment to diversity and inclusion is truly inspiring. The company offers various clubs and groups that address both social and professional development. For instance, Women in Action Employee Resource Group (ERG) promotes leadership and growth for women in the workplace and community. The Pride ERG champions equality and enriches the lives of individuals across all orientations, creating more opportunities for everyone. Additionally, the True Ability ERG focuses on advocating for friends with disabilities, harnessing the power of this organization to raise awareness and drive change.
For those considering a career at Dell Technologies, here’s my advice:
Mindset: Be genuine and grounded in your work. Embrace the learning process, as internalizing knowledge leads to personal growth. Last-minute efforts rarely yield the best results.
Work Approach: Think things through before taking action, as efficiency is crucial in any project. Maintain a rich imagination and don't be afraid to share your ideas during team meetings. Even seemingly simple suggestions can spark brilliant innovations.
