Creating a Culture of Belonging & Trust: Insights from the Dell Technologies Taiwan x CAREhER Event

At Dell Technologies, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where every individual feels a sense of belonging and trust. Last Friday, we took a significant step forward in achieving this goal by hosting the inaugural Dell Technologies x CAREhER Curated event. This event proved to be a dynamic platform for an intimate Salon Talk that took a deep dive into the crucial aspects of building a culture of belonging in the workplace. We were honored to have Janice Lu, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition and a core team member of the Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Dell, and Peter Yan, the Co-Founder of Pinkoi, as our esteemed speakers.

The evening began with an invigorating round of introductions from our diverse audience. Participants shared anecdotes and personal experiences that underscored the significance of cultivating a sense of belonging and trust within today’s work culture. These narratives illuminate the multifaceted ways in which these ideals impact not only individual well-being but also team cohesion and organizational success.

Janice and Peter took the stage to offer their invaluable insights as leaders who have championed the cause of creating a nurturing workplace environment. Drawing from her impressive 10-year tenure at Dell, Janice highlighted the pivotal role that trust plays in effective team leadership. She eloquently conveyed that "Dell is a place where it is okay to be different," firmly underlining the company’s commitment to embracing diversity among team members. This commitment has grown even more essential recently due to the widespread adoption of hybrid work, as cultivating an inclusive environment remains paramount in a digitally connected world.
On the other hand, Peter captivated us with his journey to build a diverse work culture on Pinkoi through his approach to fostering consistent and open communication with employees. He shared that by engaging in non-work-related conversations and exploring coworkers' passions outside their roles, he gains a profound understanding of their motivations. This empowers him to lead and develop their talent effectively, contributing to the growth and success of the entire organization.
As the evening drew to a close, the energy remained palpable during a spirited networking session. Participants continued their conversations, mingling on both professional and personal matters. These interactions provided an enriching opportunity for attendees to further delve into the ideas and insights shared by Janice and Peter.
