Top Reasons Why Steven Loves the Dell Technologies Sales Graduate ProgramSteven V. | Systems Engineer | Belgium Originally Published: May 17, 2023
What is your current role? I am a Datacenter Sales (DCS) Strategy Lead in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Did you join Dell Technologies as part of a graduate program? If yes, how did the graduate program contribute to your development? Yes, I started in the Amsterdam graduate program in 2015. The graduate program has allowed me to learn from all aspects of the company, giving me a holistic view of how we operate and win in the market. It has also allowed me to network with everyone in the company and build lasting professional and personal relationships. This strong network and deep understanding of the company was a fantastic foundation for the start of my career journey. I recommend anyone graduating from university to start our graduate program at Dell. How many roles did you have during your tenure at Dell? I have been in five roles since starting at Dell.
How has Dell Technologies contributed to your success? This company is a fantastic place to work. We do not only discuss necessary subjects like innovation, diversity, work-life balance, and sustainability; every team member acts passionately on these subjects among our company, partners, and customers, which shows the strength of our company culture. Dell has become more than an employer to me. It opened my eyes to the concept that working for a company can mean much more than just collecting a paycheck. What is the most pivotal feedback you received during your tenure that has shaped your journey? The best personal feedback I received was during my time in the talent development programs when I worked closely with a team of talented individuals and spent time candidly sharing improvement ideas. The graduate program and the future leader program helped me understand who I am, including what truly gives me energy and joy, my strengths, and my potential pitfalls. I cannot pinpoint a specific piece of feedback; instead, continuous learning and development enable you to grow into the best version of yourself. What are you most proud of? I am most proud of inspiring new team members. 1) I enjoyed contributing back to the graduate program after graduating. 2) Something else that made me happy was when I helped kick off a face-to-face onboarding in EMEA DCS, where we inspired many new Dell Technologies team members. Being able to unlock someone's potential and motivate them to learn, grow, and deliver results is an incredible achievement. Overall, I have onboarded over 500 team members with face-to-face training during my career. Did you ever think you would be where you are today? Yes, I did. I have always been, and still am, ambitious. My career is a journey, and I still have many more years to reach my final destination. Every step is an opportunity to learn and grow. Where I am today is only a small part of that larger journey. What would you say to encourage other graduates to join Dell?
