Seval's Impact in Talent Aquisition

Seval Ete | Senior Advisor, Talent Acquisition | Denmark

I joined Dell Technologies in 2013 on a one-year maternity cover contract, because I thought it would be a great opportunity to gain in-house recruitment experience after working in agency recruitment. What I didn’t realize at the time was that this role would be the start of an incredible journey!

Curiosity has been my driving force—I’ve always said yes to challenges, new projects, and ideas, even when they felt outside my comfort zone. That mindset has opened doors, built strong connections, and given me experiences that have helped me grow into the role I have today.

Today, I lead Talent Acquisition for Northern Europe and manage EMEA executive recruitment. It’s the perfect blend of strategy, leadership, and hands-on recruitment—which is exactly what I love. I work with an amazing team focused on attracting the best talent and shaping the hiring strategy for the region. At the same time, I stay actively involved in recruitment, keeping a pulse on the market, which I appreciate as a leader.

The importance of building strong networks and sharing successes cannot be overstated. No one grows in isolation—progress happens when you connect with others, exchange ideas, and celebrate both team and individual achievements.

Being open to learning from my colleagues across different regions and not being afraid to put myself forward for opportunities has helped me develop and advance in my career.

Senior Advisor, Talent Acquisition

What lessons have you learned during your journey that have contributed to your progress at Dell Technologies?

The importance of building strong networks and sharing successes cannot be overstated. No one grows in isolation—progress happens when you connect with others, exchange ideas, and celebrate both team and individual achievements. Being open to learning from my colleagues across different regions and not being afraid to put myself forward for opportunities has helped me develop and advance in my career.

Did you anticipate working in your current role?

I always knew I wanted to work in business, but I didn’t initially picture myself in Talent Acquisition. While studying psychology, I quickly realized that I have high empathy, little patience, and a very competitive nature—which wouldn’t have made me the best psychologist! Talent Acquisition turned out to be the perfect combination.

How do you measure success?

For me, success is about impact—on the organization, the people I hire, and the team I lead. It’s about creating opportunities, driving change, and helping others grow.

It’s also about personal fulfillment—feeling challenged, continuously learning, and finding a balance between work and life.

What are you most proud of during your career at Dell?

I am incredibly passionate about Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)—it’s something that feels deeply personal to me. Growing up, my father was the greatest feminist I’ve ever known. He championed equality and diversity long before it became a mainstream conversation. In many ways, D&I is in my DNA. One of my proudest achievements has been driving meaningful change in how we hire, develop, and elevate diverse talent within my region. Ultimately, it’s about building an inclusive culture where people from all backgrounds feel valued, empowered, and able to thrive.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Motherhood has been my biggest transformation. Balancing a demanding career while raising two small children has been a journey of learning and growth. I went from structuring my life around work to structuring work around my family—and that shift wasn’t always easy. There were moments when I wasn’t as prepared as I wanted to be, presenting during meetings on little sleep, or feeling like I wasn’t at my best. But I learned to trust myself, embrace imperfection, and take opportunities even when things weren’t perfect. And through that, I grew.

How do you balance work and family life while managing a region? Any tips for other professionals?

Having the right environment makes all the difference. Working for a company that genuinely supports work-life balance has made it possible. Trust from leadership—knowing that results matter more than rigid schedules—allows me to be both present for my family and effective in my role. Things that have helped me: prioritizing what truly matters—both at work and at home and building a strong support system—leaning on both colleagues and family.

What advice would you give to those considering a career at Dell Technologies?

Say yes to opportunities—even if they feel slightly outside your comfort zone. Be curious, keep learning, and never stop evolving. Technology is a fast-moving industry, and so is Dell Technologies. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow, make an impact, and be part of something dynamic, this is the place to be.
