What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will deliver products and improvements for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, you will craft and develop software for private cloud (Kubernetes) platforms leveraging most sophisticated opensource technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and partnerships.

You will:

• Create automation, employ open-source software, interact with API’s, and enable CI/CD to create new cloud features, harvest/visualize metrics, monitor health/performance/capacity, etc
• Partner with product and development teams to provide education and design consultation.
• Support development teams to migrate applications to Kubernetes based container platform.
• Design specifications for high availability and highly scalable applications which will be used by Dell Internal application teams.
• Assist in crafting the strategic technical and architectural direction to the programming function.

Essential Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field
• Strong experience with Linux, Networking and storage fundamentals, Kubernetes networking, storage RBAC, POD Security, Operator SDK/Use of Fabric8 API, Service Mesh - Istio, Programming - Shell scripting, Python, NGINX, HELM, Automation - Ansible, CICD
• Strong working experience with application architecture, HA, DR, Infrastructure services (DNS, Load Balancer, Firewall, TLS certs, web servers, reverse proxies, GIT
• Broad knowledge in systems telemetry and monitoring (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace Splunk, etc.)
• Experience with Agile methodologies, effective working independently and in a virtual team setting.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience with Opensource development and technologies like Calico and other CNCF technologies
• Experience with GPU based Kubernetes platforms/technologies leveraging Nvidia or other products.
