Fluid Dynamics Engineer

Mechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative and compliant mechanical design solutions, as well as cross-functional interfaces for AI, Cloud, High Performance Computing (HPC), Edge computing devices and enterprise networking, server and storage products. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products – and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.

What you’ll achieve

As a Fluid Dynamics Engineer, you will be a vital member of our cross-functional engineering team and will be instrumental in delivering advanced liquid cooling solutions for AI, HPC, and enterprise server markets. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze fluid flow in a server and develop design strategies to optimize fluid management.

You will:

  • Evaluate fluid flow within an IT enclosure
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize fluid flow paths
  • Determine material selection and fluid compatibility
  • Create innovative concepts and evaluate their feasibility
  • Establish performance metrics and validation plans

Essential Requirements

  • 12+ years industry experience or equivalent skill; must include 8+ years in a fluid dynamic engineering role or equivalent skill

  • Expert in fluid dynamics and behavior for external flow environments
  • Strong knowledge of material properties for wetted surfaces
  • Experience with fluid testing and simulation techniques

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in electronics industry
  • BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical engineering

Compensation  

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The salary range for this position is $158,950 - $205,700
