Senior Technical Consultant - Professional Services

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Consultant, you acquire intimate knowledge of the customers’ business, its strategic goals and the specific requirements of our largest enterprise and global projects. You will be demonstrating the technical abilities of the engagements and will drive a solution that assists the customer in achieving their business goals and outcomes. You are a solution level subject matter expert with broad knowledge across the Dell, Multi cloud providers (i.e. VMWare, Redhat), workload migrations tools franchises plus other 3rd party integrated products. In addition to customer facing responsibilities, Dell consulting team also provide key input to service offering evaluation, pre-sales and drive best practices in the form of white paper creation.

You will:

  • You will take ownership of business outcomes and consulting engagements and cross-functional technical project teams. Strategically work with regional Delivery teams, pre-sales & support to build out a delivery roadmap. Lead and support customers' data center migrations or disaster recovery initiatives throughout the delivery lifecycle. 

  • Define and present a transformational journey to senior project stakeholders. Work with project manager on project budget, resource planning and all aspects of efficient delivery. Ensure that the solution being delivered is fit for purpose, referencing the project's initial business goals through strong project governance. Assist in the development of our service offerings as well as developing related content, best practices, and white papers.

  • Confidently gather use case requirements and create high-level enterprise designs while functioning as a resource for "Best Practices" and driving adoption of Dell and related third-party solutions that help to resolve customers' existing pain points. Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of key core skills, considering industry directions and trends. Assist Solution Architects in creating Statements of Work as SME as needed.

  • Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire consulting portfolio and future product direction, as well as expert-level knowledge in 2 of the key disciplines (e.g., MultiCloud, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Generative AI, or Modern workforce). Present and facilitate project portfolio status and ensure solid command and control on every engagement.

  • Ensure that the project is exceptionally well documented and meets all defined goals. Engage in scoping and requirements gathering for new and existing projects as necessary. Support and assist Delivery Manager with reporting, contractual obligation management, service level management, and ITIL-based service management.

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in customer-facing positions as a consultant, preferably within a system integrator, consulting organization or IT provider.

  • Adaptable and progressive learner with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences. 

  • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • An active listener with excellent and confident communications and interpersonal skills with an ability to read complex customer situations and adapt as needed. 

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.


Desirable Requirements

  • Migration skills: Workload migrations, NSX-V to NSX-T, migrating from non-VMware platforms to VMware Platforms, Migration from Public cloud platform to On-Prem cloud environment (Target Platforms: VMWare, Redhat Openstack/Openshift).

  • Experience in delivering engagements under PRINCE2, PMP or TOGAF frameworks.

  • Very good experience in major datacenter migrations or business continuity programs.

  • Good experience with On-Prem cloud providers and the related cloud stack (i.e. VMWare Aria, Azure Stack, Redhat Openstack/Openshift).
