SoC Windows Driver Architect - Software Senior Principal Engineer

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions. The Senior Principal Software Engineer will create, design and review architectural collateral, documenting the scope of our Device Driver features as well as prototype potential solutions to comprehend feasibility.

You will:

  • Gather business requirements and drive product definition and prioritization for Device Driver features.  Influence the hardware and software direction for features that span beyond Driver

  • Respond and balance short term versus long term actions, strategic vs tactical requirements, while continuing to align the architectural road map to achieve the strategic vision

  • Assess and optimize program tradeoffs such as cost, performance, quality, and schedule, while making the proper feature tradeoffs between driver, firmware, electrical, power and thermal requirements

  • Take part in the full software development life cycle including development, test, continuous delivery and support; be an active member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test and delivery

  • Generate Intellectual Property to protect innovations; mentor team members in design collaboration, code reviews, development tools and processes

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years of software development experience with a focus on Driver Development for x86-64 or arm64 platforms

  • Proven strategic planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Agility to adapt to new technologies and processes quickly

  • Extensive programming experience in Python, C, C++, and C# etc

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field

  • Familiar with Agile Development and Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence), high level of creativity and innovation

    Compensation

    Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $192k -$248k
