Principal Electrical Engineer-AI Automation

Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.

What you’ll achieve
As an Electrical Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for driving innovation in the field of automation and tools, pushing the boundaries of next generation enterprise Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design. You will work with Dell internal engineering teams and lead Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) on DELL Core Power Edge Server and AI Server or Storage products.

You will:

  • Work with industry partners to obtain information, documentation and models required to enable efficient design of interfaces and technologies through automation and AI capabilities
  • Devise optimized PCB design strategies through high confidence processes with predictable results to deliver new feature enablement; work with Electrical Engineers, PCB Layout, and other simulation engineers to develop and ensure appropriate delivery and compliance of recommended design requirements and constraints
  • Develop design and validation guidelines required to successfully implement new technologies and interfaces across a broad range of platforms and development partners across the Dell product portfolio
  • Participate in design reviews for platforms being developed internal and external to Dell and provide guidance based on ECAD experience and best practices
  • Engage with key technology and strategic suppliers to co-develop Dell guidelines and tools and to collaborate on future technology direction and ecosystem challenges associated with PCB design and materials

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in a similar role or equivalent skill; must include a thorough understanding of PCB design practices and associated tool sets
  • Experience with: Signal Integrity/Power Integrity industry tools, electrical engineering fundamentals/design principles and PCB design process from concept to production
  • Exceptional collaboration skills; will work across internal and external partners to communicate recommendations and influence direction
  • Background in cross-functional environments where designs require complex tradeoffs and technical risk assessments
  • Strong communication skills and self-driven approach to delivering results

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • Knowledge of Cadence tool suite, or equivalent; experience with various simulation tools required for PCB design process in the Enterprise space

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $131,200- $180,400k.
