Mechanical Engineer 1

Mechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative and compliant mechanical design solutions, as well as cross-functional interfaces for desktop, portable and server computer systems and peripherals. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products – and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.

What you’ll achieve

As an Engineer 1 in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll be responsible for development of Rack-Level Data Center AI solutions and work with our global mechanical, electrical and thermal engineering community on cutting edge AI solutions.

You will:

  • Learn to use professional concepts to apply knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems; Work on problems of limited scope
  • Determine a course of action based on guidelines
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Work is reviewed periodically based on a set of defined procedures or precedence and you will
  • Normally receives general instruction on work and new assignments

Essential Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge and ability to use 3D CAD modeling as well as the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and 3D databases
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Mechanical aptitude to generate and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Experience collaborating with other workgroups or teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable Requirements:

  • Typically requires 0+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $78,795 – $101,970.
