What you’ll achieve

In this position as Life Cycle Assessment Principal Engineer, you will be a part of a global interdisciplinary design and technology organization that collaborates with cross functional teams such as product engineering, marketing, corporate sustainability, and other stakeholders. The role requires knowledge in sustainability and technology, openness to new ideas, and a commitment to ongoing learning. You will continue to advance our methodology and tools to calculate product environmental impacts through life cycle assessment approach across the DELL Technologies product portfolio. 

You will:

  • Apply Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies to support informed, data-driven decision making
  • Develop and maintain strategies and road maps for our approach to life cycle assessments aligned with customer requirements
  • Collaborate with external consultants to implement the defined strategy and technology roadmap
  • Engage with suppliers and consultants to verify Life Cycle Assessment claims performed on behalf of DELL as required
  • Partner with suppliers to gather primary data, enhance and refining LCA modeling techniques as necessary
  • Create tools for internal teams to facilitate evaluation of various solutions

Essential Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience using Life Cycle Assessment modeling software tools such as Gabi and Simapro
  • Strong Understanding of life cycle thinking and other sustainability impact assessment mythologies
  • ISO 14040/14044/14067 Methodology and GHG Protocol
  • Ability to work in highly matrixed organization structures and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Maintain understanding of latest industry technology and the applicability to DELL’s roadmap

Desirable Requirements

  • Master’s degree in field of Sustainability with a Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as engineering, materials Science or other technology related field

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The salary range for this position is $163,200 - $211,200.
